WOMB Initiative Open House

The Women of the Mountains Birth Initiative (WOMB) is a newly founded New Hampshire non-profit actively working to help support the growing need for information, resources, and empowerment for women during the perinatal period and beyond. The idea of the initiative came from several local midwifery clients who repeatedly stated that the information about the entire perinatal experience, As it Was Midwifery gave to them, should be delivered to everyone regardless of their place of birth or risk assessment.

In response, our founding Board of Directors have begun actively searching for funding opportunities to support the start-up and site acquisition expenses required to develop and deliver these essential holistic resources and supports to women and families throughout the North Country. WOMB will require $50,000 to build capacity to offer an array of holistic perinatal education classes to women and their families, one-on-one consultations to support women through obstacles and challenges they may be facing around pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum issues, along with birth story circles to foster connections and empowerment among women of the North Country. 

To raise these funds, WOMB is excited to be participating in Giving Tuesday on November 30th, the world’s biggest day of generosity!
