About the event

Taught by Wendy Aldrich Jordan, IBCLC.

This class is designed to discuss how Tongue Tie (short sublingual frenulum) can impact breastfeeding based on my observations during 26 years as a professional IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I have also studied this topic via attending conferences, reading various research articles, and studying physiology of lactation.

Meet with an IBCLC  who has worked in the field for over 35 years.

Topics discussed:

Basic mechanics of suckling: Description regarding tongue function.

Why lip and buccal ties don’t generally concern me. I typically advise against them. I agree with the latest ABM Protocol.

Not All Oral Restrictions are caused by TTs. Torticollis and Laryngomalacia can impact feeding ability. Describe role of the Hyoid bone.

Diagnosis: Why all the confusion and hype? Differing perspectives from pediatricians, ENTs, LCs and dentists.
