About the event
We have invited a special guest, Jackie Osanitsch from Sensible Lactation, to lead us in a breastfeeding support circle.
Breastfeeding can be both one of the most rich and rewarding experiences of motherhood, but it also can present with many difficulties and challenges. Join together in a community of breastfeeding women to either be a support to others, or to find support and help.
Jackie's bio, taken from her website www.sensiblelactation.com, follows:
I have been a Registered Nurse for over 16 years and I am certified in Inpatient Obstetrics. I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2020, and prior to that I held a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certificate. I still work per diem in a busy tertiary care hospital providing complex lactation care to all types of parents- including those who have infants in the level 3 NICU. I am passionate about helping all families meet their breastfeeding goals. I have expertise in many areas, from helping first-time parents as they navigate the transition into their new role, to assisting NICU moms manage their milk supply while pumping. I can help with managing common breastfeeding challenges such as tongue tie, oversupply, low milk supply and supplementation, sore nipples, and the transition when going back to work.
Breastfeeding infants and babies are welcome, but due to limited space, we do ask that older children do not come. If you need help and support finding childcare, please contact WOMB at info@wombinitiative.org
